The city of Mexicali has private and goverment owned companies that provide services such as gas, electricity, telephone lines, water, and sewer that are offered on each BTS or existing building in PIMSA’s parks. Our industrial parks are fully served by the city utilities.
The water service in Mexicali is supplied by CESPM (Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Mexicali), through its three water treatments plants, covering 95% of the population. These plants receive water from the Colorado River. The cost of water depends upon the amount consumed.
Our city, has one of the largest Geothermal Electricity Generating Plants in the world. With a yielding capacity of over 720 Megawatts, the Cerro Prieto Geothermal plant provides electricity in such abundance, that excess of energy is presently being exported to the U.S. The electric power rates in Mexicali vary. It’s important to point out that the cost per Kilowatt depends on the total amount of power used and the efficient use of such. We are currently forth in producing this type of energy worldwide.
The outstanding advantage of being located in the U.S-Mexico border allows our country to fully integrate its communication systems with the rest of the world. Our city offers telephone lines, fax, telex, data transmission and satellite communication service, as well as different servers for internet communication.
Energy supply is very ample and consists on a wide variety of products such as: premium and magna unleaded gasoline, natural gas and LP, diesel fuel, etc. Every city has its own storage and distribution terminal that looks forward to keep a continuous and uninterrupted supplying of the Energy. Petroleum products come from Mexican origin, with the exception of the gas that is obtained by means of importation. The quality of these products is excellent; they have standards of international competitiveness.
